  • 1984-1988 : Thesis in physical chemistry, RWTH Aachen (Dr. rer. nat.). Calculation of neutron scattering spectra of methylene chloride using molecular dynamics simulation. Thesis advisor : A. Geiger (Prof. Dr. em., U. Dortmund, Germany)

  • 1989 : Post-doc at the Department of Scientific and Engineering Computations at IBM, Kingston, USA

  • Since 1998 : Professor in physics at the University of Orléans and at the Centre de Biophysique Moléculaire, CNRS Orléans. Group leader "Theoretical Biophysics, Molecular Simulation, and Scientific Computation". Work on the structure and dynamics of biomolecules and biological membranes by combining simulation, theory, and experimental results. Recent research activities cover in particular
    • Slow, anomalous relaxation dynamics in proteins, including the impact of hydrostatic pressure.
    • Theory of anomalous diffusion and application to lipid bilayers.
    • Protein secondary structure analysis.
    • Theory of constrained dynamical systems, including population dynamics.
    • Methodology for molecular simulation and analysis.
    • Software development, in particular the code nMoldyn.
